Sales and Customer Service Representative – Academic Segment

East View Cartographic Inc. is a leading producer and distributor of international maps and digital geospatial data and related solutions. Our Minneapolis office is currently looking for a dynamic, motivated Sales and Customer Service Representative to meet established sales and marketing goals focused primarily on US-based academic institutions. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the global marketplace combined with a proven track record of successful sales.

Responsibilities:

Position requires that the candidate identifies, qualifies, develops and executes plans to close sales opportunities from leads, existing clients, conferences and other industry contacts.

• Lead and assist in developing bids and strategy development for international geospatial data sales efforts
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with major agencies and industries into which our products are primarily sold
• Play a major role in the negotiation and execution of contracts
• Meet identified sales targets and quotas on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to close complex technical sales
• Proven ability to interact at senior levels within customer organizations
• Innovative thinker, able to participate in creating solutions and developing enhancements to products and services
• Ability to plan and organize multiple complex proposal schedules and to prioritize resources accordingly

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Geography, Commerce or other related degree, plus at least 1 year of sales experience.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge of GIS, remote sensing and mapping industry is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
• Fluency in at least one foreign language (speaking, reading and writing)
