What is important to know when ordering geospatial data?
Before you start shopping for geospatial data the following questions need to be addressed:
What is the geographic extent of your area of interest? Providing us with exact coordinates of the area will avoid miscommunication and maximize efficiency.
What is the level of detail or desired scale of the dataset?
What are the specific features or set of features required?
What attributes of those features are required?
What data format is required?
How many concurrent users will be accessing the data; in how many locations?
When is the data needed? Is it possible to provide the data in batches?
