EVC has created a worldwide small-scale vector basemap – an ideal base layer to serve as the global foundation for your GIS projects. The product is designed as a ready-to-use dataset; simply load it and go! The vector basemap was created at the 1:10 Million scale, which means it is cartographically designed to display at that scale.

The database is comprised of all the layers expected in a comprehensive basemap. The features in the basemap have been extracted from multiple sources, including topographic maps at appropriate scale, public-domain datasets such as boundaries and gazetteers, and ancillary reference sources. NOTE: only a portion of The Arctic and Antarctica are covered. See below for a list of layers.
