Exploration in the Kashan Region of Iran

Kashan Region

IRAN: 1:250,000 Scale National Topographic Series
Complete coverage of Iran is comprised of 136 sheets, of which 132 are available. These maps were produced by the National Geographic Organization of the Armed Forces of the Islamic republic of Iran (NGO) in 1972-2003. Most of the maps were published in 1999 – 2002. These maps are in Farsi with 100 meter contours; sheet size and sheet numbers corresponding to the standard JOG quadrangle series.
IRAN: 1:50,000 Scale National Topographic Series
Complete coverage of Iran in 2650 six-color map sheets, with each covering 15x15 min area. 2648 sheets are available. The maps are all on UTM projection, European 1950 ellipsoid, in Farsi, with 20-meter contour lines. These maps were produced by the National Geographic Organization of the Armed Forces of the Islamic republic of Iran (NGO) in 1973-2002. Most of the maps were published in 1999 – 2002 and created/compiled from aerial photography.
IRAN: 1:250,000 Scale American JOG Series
American 1:250,000 scale Joint Operations Graphics (JOGs) are the only maps of this region available from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). The whole country is covered with 138 sheets, of which 125 are available. Most of the sheets were reprinted in nineties and map information is as of mid- or late-eighties.
IRAN: 1:250,000 Scale National Geological Maps
The sheet size and sheet numbers correspond with the standard JOG quadrangle series. Approximately 70 per cent of the country is covered with 86 maps. These maps have been compiled and published by the Geological Survey of Iran in 1975-1995. These maps are bilingual, in English and Farsi.
IRAN: 1:100,000 Scale National Geological Maps
Geological mapping of the country is almost complete, however not all the maps have been published yet. The coverage at 1:100,000 scale is comprised of 302 sheets published by the Geological Survey of Iran from 1990-2003. These maps are bilingual, in English and Farsi, and in some cases contain explanatory information.
