Libraries
For years East View Cartographic has provided maps and associated reference materials for academic, public and corporate libraries. Among East View Cartographic's customers are the Library of Congress, the British Library, Harvard University, the University of California, and the University of Georgia. We are proud to be one of the first providers of GIS data, vector data, satellite imagery and DEMs to library customers.
Map and aerial photo preservation is an ongoing issue for many map libraries. East View Cartographic offers scanning and archiving services for map libraries in order to preserve their collections. Our production capabilities allow us to convert hundreds of aerial photos and maps per month. We also offer unique distribution systems, which allow end users to access digital library archives.
Many large libraries lack metadata and sheet-level control for their map collections. East View Cartographic has extensive experience in providing metadata and indexing services. Using industrial GIS tools for map indexing we can build metadata and index databases for collections of any size. Our developers will help mount the resulting GIS databases for a library's internal use and for external end-users.
East View Cartographic offers several acquisition options for library clients:
- Standing Order Service
- One Map - One Country Program
- Filling Gaps Initiative
- Country Atlases Program
- General Approval Plan.
