DEM From ASTER Imagery

ASTER is a 15-meter color satellite imagery product, provided by NASA and distributed through the USGS. One of the bands on the ASTER instrument collects stereoscopic imagery coverage in each scene. Through digital photogrammetry, a 30m resolution DEM can be produced inexpensively. The only limitation, other than cloud cover, is the availability of topographic maps or other ground control, to provide high absolute accuracy.
