Off-the-shelf Local DEM

This product is a large-scale DEM typically extracted from maps at any of three different scales: 1:10,000, 1:25,000, or 1:50,000. An additional source is medium resolution satellite imagery such as SPOT or TK-350 stereo pairs.

This type of DEM is stored in a cartographic projection, in metric coordinates, and in 7.5-min x 7.5-min blocks. The resolution of this product is 30 meters. 1,000,000 sq. km. have been produced.
