EVC proudly offers a one-of-a-kind Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the Faroe Islands, at 30m spatial resolution. All 18 islands of the archipelago are covered. The DEM has been extracted from 1:20,000 scale locally-produced topographic maps, with 10m contours.

This extraordinary undertaking was made possible through a formal agreement between EVC and KMS, Denmark’s national mapping authority, allowing EVC legal rights to nationally-copyrighted source materials. The resulting product is a tremendously detailed DEM of one of the world’s most dramatic terrains. The DEM remarkably captures the islands jutting up out of the Atlantic Ocean.
