East View Cartographic, widely recognized as a producer of world-class carto-based Digital Elevation Models, now offers you a DEM of central Ecuador, at 30m resolution. The DEM covers an area in the heart of the Andes Mountains, among the most rugged terrains on Earth. Specifically, this 30m DEM covers one GeoCell, from 78deg W to 79deg W and 0deg N (equator) to 1deg S.

The DEM has been derived from Ecuador National topographic mapping at 1:25k and 1:50k scales, including 10m and 20m contours. The SRTM DEM dataset offers coverage of the same area, yet it is replete with void areas. EVC’s 30m DEM solves that problem with a seamless, precise solution.
