EVC offers 1:50,000 scale topographic maps produced by the Republic of South Africa’s Chief Directorate, Surveys and Mapping (CDSM). In addition to offering these for purchase on a per-sheet basis, EVC offers this series of topographic maps of South Africa as highly-compressed raster mosaics.

Instead of purchasing more than 1,900 individual files (maps) for complete coverage of South Africa, EVC can offer the same content for 11 tiles - with each tile covering 5x5 degrees. Using its highly sophisticated compression process, EVC is able to dramatically reduce the file size of each tile with virtually no loss of image clarity, resulting in an exceptionally high quality, small footprint image.
